History :
FAPSIA was set up in 1986 for proper co-ordination between Industrial Associations and act as link between Industry and the Government and Support Organisations and to bridge the gaps between policy formulation and implementation.

Federation of Andhra Pradesh Small Industries Associations (FAPSIA) was registered as an Apex body of Andhra Pradesh Small-Scale Industry Associations, in November 1998.

Activities and Achievements:

FAPSIA has been responsible for creation of service societies to act as Industrial Municipalities of Self – Governance.

FAPSIA was responsible for bringing out first ever SSI Policy of Andhra Pradesh State in November 1998.. 

FAPSIA has been responsible for simplification of Labour and Factory Act Administration through separate set of GOs issued in 1999. 

FAPSIA along with other and Small Industries representative associations from various states is instrumental at articulating the first draft of the SSI Bill prepared by ASCI, Hyderabad, which is the basis for MSMED Act 2006 which is in force from 2nd October 2006.

On the request of FAPSIA , Government of Andhra Pradesh Marked 2nd Nov as SSI Day.The first SSI day was celebrated in association with Industries and Commerce Department, GOAP on 2nd November 2001 and set the tradition.

FAPSIA’s recognition that the contribution in service of SSI can be better articulated through an Institutional Arm saw the establishment of the FAPSIA - AP SSI CENTRE, in November 2001. The Centre is jointly set up by FAPSIA and Government of Andhra Pradesh and accordingly allotted common facility administrative building and adjacent land admeasuring 2000 Sq.Mtrs of Sanathnagar Industrial Estate through GO.Ms.No.548, Ind. & Comm Dept (SSI) dated: 07 Nov 2001. The Govt. Of A.P through GO.Ms.No.427 dated 24 Oct 2002 have further extended financial assistance of Rs.20 Lakhs out of the sanctioned amount of Rs.84 Lakhs of the first installment to build the Technology Development Centre. 

FAPSIA has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with National Institute of Design (NID), 

FAPSIA has initiated action by Government of Andhra Pradesh for On-Line Registration and campaigned for On-Line Provisional Registration of SSIs with the support of Government of Andhra Pradesh, through out the State.

FAPSIA delegation participated in SME Expo-2003 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in AP Pavilion which was supported by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

FAPSIA in association with HITEX and with support of Government of Andhra Pradesh organized first ever exhibition for SMEs in Andhra Pradesh,SME Expo 2005 highlighting Manufacturing Excellence at HITEX, Hyderabad from 26 to 28th August, 2005.

The New body of FAPSIA was inducted on 07th Oct 2005 at Hotel Fortune Khatriya by Dr.Smt.J Geeta Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Major Industries in the presence of Sri S Indrasain reddy, Chiarman, APIDC and Sri A.Rambabu, Chairman, APIIC). 

SSI Day Celebrations in Association with Industries Dept, Govt. of AP on 2nd Nov 2005 at Jubilee Hall.(Chief Guest Dr.YS Raja Sekhara Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister and Guest of Honour Dr.Smt.J.Geeta Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Major Industries).

AP Formation Golden Jubilee Celebrations on 05th November 2005 organised a interactive workshop(Chief Guest Dr.J.Geeta Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Major Industries)at Jubilee Hall.

Conquest-2006 was organized in association with Re search Centre Imarat (RCI) 0n 05th Jan 2006 at HITEX. (Chief Guest Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh).

FAPSIA has entered into Memoranda of Understanding with National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Federation of Indian Micro Small and Medium Enterprises ( FISME).

NSIC Schemes awareness Workshop for members at NSIC Tech.Head Quarters was organised on 4th June 2006. 

Reduction of VAT of certain Industrial Goods during 2006-2007 with the representation to Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. 

Regularisation of CIE, Balanagar was approved by our Hon’ble Chief Minister.

Repeal of Stamp Duty and limited to Rs.1000/- for SSIs accorded by Hon’ble Chief Minister.

Withdrawal of NALA Tax for SSIs with the approval of Hon’ble Min for Major Industries, Hon’ble Minister for Revenue was accepted by Hon’ble Chief Minister in 2006.

Actively Participated in the Workshop at Goa on 8th & 9th July 2006 for Project Strategies and preparedness for Trade and Globalisation in India, organized by FISME in association with UNCTAD, DFID UK and Min. of Commerce, Govt. of India. 

Organised unique Interactive Conference on Infrastructure and Pollution Control Issues with APIIC and APPCB (Mr.BP Acharya, IAS, VC & MD APIIC and Mr.Rajeshwar Tiwari, MS- APPCB were the Key Note Speakers) at Hotel Manohar on 02nd Sept 2006 for FAPSIA Members and Chairmen and Secretaries of Industrial Municipality/Panchayat Service Societies (IALAs) from all over the State. 

Bureau of Indian standards (BIS) organised Awareness Programme for FAPSIA Members on 12th Oct 2006 at Hotel Satya Prakash, Nampally.

World standards Day was organised by BIS, for which our Vice President Mr. A.Vijaya Kumar was the Key Note Speaker on 13th Oct 2006.

SES Workshop was organized (sponsored by SIDBI) for enhancing the Technology with the assistance of Experts from SES, Germany on 24th Oct 2006 (Chief Guest:Sri Sutirtha Bhattacharya, IAS, Commissioner of Industries and Guest of Honour :Sri M Subramnian, GM SIDBI) at Hotel Kamat Lingapur. 

SSI day celebrations 2006 in association with Govt of A.P were celebrated in Jubilee Hall on 23rd Nov 2006 (Chief Guest : Dr.YS Raja Sekhara Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister).

Vendor Development Programme and Exhibition organised by SISI and NSIC at Classic Gardens from 04 to 06 Jan 2007.

Interactive discussions with SSIs held with the initiative of Janab Md.Ali Shabbir, Hon’ble Minister for Energy and representation to Hon’ble Chief Minister by FAPSIA resulted fruitful. Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister announced uninterrupted Quality Power supply to SSIs on 27th April 2007. 

Workshop on using Internet as a Tool was organised at Cherlapally on 03rd May 07 for the benefit of FAPSIA Members. 

Interactive meeting organised at Cherlapally with Sri Satish Chandra, IAS, Commissioner for Employment and Training, and also the Commissioner for Labour on 03rd May 07 on the issue of non-availability of work force and trained man power. 

In Pipeline :

‘Rajiv Udyoga Sikshana Pathakam’ a scheme for providing rural school drop outs training and employment with the proactive action of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhar Reddy is under formulation by Dept. of Employment and Training. 

An Exhibition for SMEs ‘SME Expo-2007’ to be organised from 05-07 Oct 2007 at HITEX Hyderabad. 

Release of Monthly News bulletin of FAPSIA from June 2007.

We are developing the website of FAPSIA with domain name www.fapsia.com with relevant information to SSIs. 

Bhoomi Puja for Centre Entrepreneurship Building was performed on 25th Jan 2007. (Chief Guest : Sri BP Acharya, IAS, VC&MD). The Building to be constructed with Funds from Govt of A.P. and Govt of India. MCH Approval awaited, which is in its final stage. 

Common Facilities Centre Testing and Calaibration Lab at Sanathnagar is recommended by Govt of AP and under active consideration by DC, SSI. 

Issuance of Certificate of Origin for Exporters is under active consideration by DGFT and awaiting approval.
